Description:
1) A thermocouple consists of 2 wires which are made of different metal and welded together at one end. When the welding point(measuring junction) is heated, a thermal electromotive force is produced which is proportional to the temperature difference between the welded point and the other end(reference junction).
2) Therefore, by measuring this thermal electromotive force, either with the reference junction temperature kept constant or by using an automatic compensation circuit, the measuring junction temperature can be measured. Thermal electromotive force of thermocouple is independent of the diameter of length of the wire used but depends only on the type of wire used. The thermocouple is usually fitted in insulators and enclosed in a protecting tube with terminal box and a mounting fitting.
Specification:
1, To select the appropriate length of protective paper tube and thermocouple lance according to the object and scope of the measurement
2, Attach the fastresponse immersion thermocouple to the thermocouple lance, make the pointer of the secondary instrument (or digital display) back to zero. Begin to measure.
3, It is recommended to insert the fast response immersion thermocouple into the molten steel at the depth of 300-400mm. Do not touch the furnace wall or scum. Bring up the temperature measuring gun immediately after the secondary instrument get results. The soak time of fast thermocouple in molten steel should less than 5 seconds, otherwise the lance may be burned out.
4, Change the used thermocouple into a new one, and pause for a few minutes to get ready for the next measurement.
